Observatory of Tourism

The Observatory of Tourism is a non-profit organization established on February 9, 2005, by the National Confederation of Tourism (formerly the National Federation of Tourism) and the Ministry of Tourism, with the aim of creating an effective tourism monitoring tool.

The establishment of the Observatory of Tourism aligns with the implementation of Article 26 of the Framework Agreement and Article 49 of its Application Agreement, signed on January 10 and October 29, 2001, respectively. These agreements form the contractual foundation and operational charter of Vision 2010.

The main purpose of the Observatory of Tourism is to monitor the national tourism economy by producing and disseminating reliable and relevant information. As a key component of the Moroccan tourism strategy’s oversight and management system, the Observatory of Tourism also serves as a guiding instrument for tourism development.

Missions of the Observatory of Tourism

The Observatory of Tourism is primarily responsible for collecting, processing, and publishing data related to tourism industry. It provides monitoring and steering information to help operators make informed decisions.

Through periodic publications and reports, the Observatory of Tourism promotes the dissemination of high-quality information to all operators involved in the tourism sector, both in Morocco and abroad.

The missions of the Observatory of Tourism include:

Producing statistical data, studies, and analyses, and ensuring their dissemination to all stakeholders in tourism activities;

Conducting strategic, competitive, and economic monitoring;

Serving as a partnership platform and an interface for consultation and reflection between public authorities and tourism stakeholders.
